In December 2022, I moved to the Swiss Alps. The mountains, stunning panoramas, and playful single tracks invite me to rack up the miles ("Like a kid in a candy store" - Erik). This resulted in a knee strain after five months... After a six-week layoff, I sought professional help from Erik.
I was looking for consistency in my training to achieve (ambitious) ultra goals and fully enjoy the new environment, focusing on injury-free (!) ("a sustainable training plan" - Erik). After an introductory meeting, I immediately had confidence in Erik; the fact that the distance wasn't an issue, his approach, and his down-to-earth perspective on my profile/goals left me with no doubts about working with him. His initial training schedule helped me smoothly through my rehabilitation, with the right load and stress for quality. During interim updates via video calls, Erik offered numerous tips and tricks on all aspects of (ultra)running. His extensive knowledge and anecdotal experiences made me aware of the benefits of specific training. The variations in the workouts boosted my motivation. After rehabilitation, Erik's guidance helped me check off my first goal: a 24-hour backyard ultra. Besides Erik's incredible athletic support, I certainly can't underestimate the impact of the entire Sweet Performance community. The tips, stories, and encouragement from like-minded individuals are incredibly motivating. With Erik as my coach, I'm sure I can tick off a few more goals in the coming years, always with a focus on staying injury-free!
