Trans Gran Canaria 2025 as an entrepreneur with a family and a busy business

In January 2024, I decided to truly challenge myself: the Transgrancanaria – 128 km and 6,800 meters of elevation gain. As a recreational runner with a busy family life and my own business, I knew this challenge was only achievable with the right guidance.

During my search for a coach, Sweetspot Performance immediately caught my eye. Finally, someone who understood that training isn't my full-time job, but rather a passion I want to cleverly integrate into my life.

From the very first consultation, I felt Erik knew what he was doing. His approach is based not only on years of experience but also on realism. No unattainable schedules, but a well-thought-out structure that fit into my busy schedule.

What I remember most is the attention to the mental aspect. Erik doesn't just prepare you physically—he also helps you become mentally stronger, focusing on resilience and dealing with the mental ups and downs of an ultratrail.

The collaboration was fantastic: clear schedules, clear communication, and gradually more engagement as the race approached. I really enjoyed the solo moments in nature during the process – they were just as much a part of the preparation as the training sessions themselves.

On race day, I felt ready. Physically strong, mentally equipped, and confident at the starting line. And that's largely Erik's doing.

Would I recommend him? Absolutely. Whether you're an experienced ultrarunner or – like me – looking to take on a major challenge head-on, Erik is a coach who truly empathizes with you and works with you.

Noor Van De Veer

"I recommend Sweet Sport Performance because of Erik's inspiring physical and mental coaching, his fun and adventurous schedules, and his proven ability to create training plans for injury-prone runners with big dreams."
